I am a believer. I believe there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite Spirit, the Maker and supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption (Exod. 20:2, 3; I Cor. 8:6; Rev. 4:11).
I believe that God has called me to the work of a therapist to help people from all walk of life work through mental and emotional difficulties.
In my professional work, there is often an intersectionality between mental health and spiritual heath. I believe that believers can always use their spiritual resources to help work through mental health issues. Some of these resources include Bible reading, scriptural meditation, prayer journaling, listening to sermons, engagement in faith based communities, and service to the Body of Christ.
I believe that in relationship with our Higher Power, God, we can have a healthy quality of life and the true abundant life as promised in the scriptures.
I want this platform to provide readers, believers and non-believers alike, a space to learn more about how spiritual practices can help with mental health issues.
